Well, to avoid all these problems, you should throw away all the chemicals for pest control and focus on home remedies. After all, the chemicals can be harmful to our health. As a result, you should be using non-toxic remedies.

Ingredients
  • lemon essential oil
  • distilled vinegar
  • water
  • Spray bottle
Instructions

Add equal parts of both the vinegar and the water. Next, add a few drops of lemon essential oil and shake it well. Lastly, spray this repellent everywhere where ants tend to gather. Repeat this process until all the ants are gone.

2. Tin Foil and Bananas

The best way to get rid of pests in your garden is to make this pest repellent. For it, you will need the following:

Ingredients
  • tin foil
  • chopped banana peel
Instructions

Place the banana peels under the soil around plants. This trick will help give the soil some nutrients and keep pests at bay. Next, place the foil around the base of the plant so that the light from the sun will reflect from it and will turn towards the leaves.

Note: Be careful where you will place the foil. It is important that the light won’t scorch the plant.

3. Cinnamon

Many people love cinnamon, but ants hate it. To make this repellent, you will need the following:

Ingredients
  • a cup of water
  • half a teaspoon of cinnamon essential oil
  • cinnamon cloves
  • cotton balls
Instructions

Mix the cinnamon essential oil with water and soak the cotton ball in the mixture. Next, wipe the areas where you can see ants and keep repeating the process until all the ants are gone. Lastly, add the cinnamon cloves near windows and doors.

4. Borax

The trick for removing all the ants in the home is to try to attract them. Ants come out to take food and transport it to their nest. So, by using borax on the food that the ants will come to get, you will be able to get rid of them all.

Ingredients
  • a teaspoon of water
  • a teaspoon of borax
  • two tablespoons of peanut butter
  • sharp object
  • plastic container
  • two tablespoons of sugar
Instructions

Mix all the ingredients in the container and poke a few holes through the lid. Once you place the peanut butter in the container, ants will pick up the smell. Next, they will enter through the lid and take the food.

Lastly, once they bring the food to their nest, all the ants in it will die most brutally.
